Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: February 10, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do in the city to kick off your week right*

Trampoline Hall
Where: The Garrison
When: 7:40pm

If you haven’t checked out this lecture series you’re in for a real treat. The New Yorker has praised it for its “eccentricity and do-it-yourself inventiveness”, and we’re guessing that’s because the common theme that brings it all together is that none of the speakers are experts in the fields they’re discussing. Tonight: Anxiety, Dentistry, and Wrestling Referees. Just don’t be late – no one’s allowed in after 8pm. Seriously.

Chris Hadfield
Where: Roy Thomson Hall
When: 7:30pm

This is going to be out of this world – hey-o! Seriously though, Colonel Hadfield is one of the most exciting Canadians on the planet. His book, An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth, was released in October to rave reviews. Hearing him talk about life in space is pretty much as close as you’ll ever get to becoming an astronaut. Sounds worth it to us, we hate heights.

PEN Picks
Where: Bloor Cinema
When: 6:15pm

Smart people usually like smart things. And tonight, the Bloor Cinema’s going to test that theory out. Four of Canada’s most celebrated writers, including Vincent Lam and Miriam Toews, have each selected a documentary to screen. They’ll stick around to discuss their interest in their film of choice as well as participate in a Q&A. Monday’s, it would seem, are for learning.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in all night just to watch the end of cute.
