Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: April 16, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do halfway through your week.*

Wine
Where: Faculty Club, 41 Willcocks St.
When: 6:00pm

It turns out our province puts some pretty great grapes out into the world, and lucky for you, the Ontario Wine Society wants you to get to know them. Focusing on five varietals, your night will include tasting and learning about Ontario’s best sparkling, riesling, chardonnay, pinot noir, and cabernet franc from 20 local wineries. Sounds like a pretty good way to get over the hump to us.

Beer
Where: Bier Markt Don Mills, 7 O’Neill Rd
When: 6:30pm

Sometimes it’s worth leaving the downtown core. A night of beer and food tasting that features the release of cellared beers is one of those occasions. Resident beer expert Katie MacDonald will lead you through a selection of unibroue beers that have been aged up to four years. Cured meat and aged cheese will also be in attendance. You should be too.

Maestro Fresh Wes
Where: Daniels Spectrum
When: 7pm

Settle down. This isn’t the time for you to start letting your backbone slide. Rather, the maestro will be in town lending his talents to 416RISE’s 2nd anniversary. Along with vital community leaders, trailblazing poet D’bi, a keynote speech from Olivia Chow, and the 416RISE community, Fresh will be helping to celebrate Toronto’s impact in arts and culture across all demographics. No word yet on whether he’ll be dropping the needle.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in to make your own video. It’s not weird at all. And Pharrell’s tears are what rainbows are made from.
