Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: April 15, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on poor ‘ol Tuesday.*

Malbec
Where: The Great Hall
When: 6:30pm

Who doesn’t love an entire day dedicated to wine? Especially when that day is a Tuesday. Tonight at The Great Hall it’s all about Argentina. Your taste buds will be trying some of the best Malbecs, Chardonnays, and Cabs born in South America. Your ticket includes wine samples, food vouchers, special offers from event partners, and live DJs throwin’ down beats. Did we mention we love wine on Tuesday?

The Works
Where: Any The Works Location
When: All Day

You’re having a burger for lunch today. Probably dinner too. Why? ‘Cause all day long The Works is celebrating its 13th anniversary by offering an 8oz burger with a signature side for just $5. With three locations around town, we suggest you start heading there now to avoid the line. No word yet on a how many you can buy at one time but you should probably aim high – or just bring everyone you know with you.

The War on Drugs
Where: Lee’s Palace
When: 8:30pm

We told you weeks ago and we told you yesterday: this will likely be the last time you get to see these guys for less than $20 in a club where you can buy them a beer after the show. Last night was The Horseshow, tonight it’s Lee’s Palace – intimate, up-close, and personal. And in case you really haven’t been paying attention, we’ll tell you for the thrice time: their latest album is being compared to guys like Springsteen, Dire Straits, and Tom Petty. Don’t screw this up for the second night in a row.

*Of course, no one would blame you for coming out to this to heckle me in person.
