Today’s Notable 3some in Toronto: April 1, 2014

Here’s a trio of the hottest things you can do on April Fools’ Day.*

Cheese
Where: Whole Foods Market, Yorkville
When: 6:00pm

Have you ever met someone who didn’t like cheese? We didn’t think so. Well, tonight’s your chance to learn all you can about raw milk cheese. If you’re not sure what that is, you will be after tonight. This unpasteurized gem is definitely worth the price of admission – especially considering that price is free. All you have to do is RSVP. Just follow the link and the aroma of Le Bleu d’Élizabeth and we’re sure you’ll figure it out.

50 Shades
Where: Bluma Appel Theatre, 27 Front St. E.
When: 8:00pm

It’s opening night of the original 50 Shades of Grey musical parody. Having received rave reviews in New York, it’s taking over Toronto for the next 10 days and letting you explore your sexual side through humour. Here’s a little taste of what you’re in for, which is clearly more entertaining than any book club you’ve ever been to. Though maybe we should have saved this for a Hump Day recommendation – hey-o!

Indonesian Fusion
Where: Indie Alehouse, 2876 Dundas St. W.
When: 6:00pm

Paul Boehmer of Bhima’s Warung (Waterloo) is getting together with Indie Alehouse’s Chef, Todd Clarmo, to put together a dinner featuring Indonesian fusion food. That means mouthwatering dishes like Pok-Pok Rabbit Satay (dom ka broth & duxelle-foie gras dumpling) and Rendang of Welsh Lamb Shank (jasmine rice and achar). And obviously every course will be paired with a select Indie Alehouse beer. The Internet says it’s already sold out but we believe in your resourcefulness.

*Of course, no one would blame you for staying in to contemplate why you did not prepare better
