Today’s Most Notable: January 16, 2014

With kicked off the day with a feature on wine sommelier Brad Royale, who has the nose of a bloodhound, a gentlemanly demeanour and a creative knack for describing wines that sound more like greeting cards than tasting notes. We then kicked into a fashion gear, following news that Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci is collaborating with Nike on a Spring 2014 range. After the release of this year’s Oscar nominations, we highlighted Canada’s top talent to be represented at this year’s awards. We ended the day with some good news for vino fans after the announcement that you’ll be able to find a Brut Sparkling Wine, a Gewürztraminer, a Chardonnay, a pair of Pinot Noirs, and an enticing little number called Freud’s Ego as featured BC Wines at the LCBO this Saturday, January 18th.

Young professionals in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, meanwhile, were filling their social calendar for the weekend ahead with the release of our Weekender editions
