So, what does the future of TikTok hold? As content becomes more significant in the marketing scope for brands, businesses and personalities, we’ve seen other social platforms take notes from TikTok’s creator fund that pays creators for their content. After all, the creators keep users returning to the platform, keeping them hooked and scrolling; exactly what advertisers are looking for. TikTok has been testing new features, including searchable comments – taking a page from traditional SEO. Users will soon be able to search topics right from the comment section, making similar content more easily discoverable and serving as a search engine. Localized content is another tool TikTok is developing, allowing users to easily find “nearby” content for localized recommendations, businesses, and creators to follow. These are just some of the many reasons TikTok is growing rapidly and continues to foster loyalty amongst its users. They understand that to be the top app, they must put the creator first.

It’s safe to say the future of TikTok is bright, with no signs of slowing down. The social app provides plenty of opportunities for creators and brands to grow authentic communities through education, entertainment, inspiration and aspiration, as demonstrated by the shining Canadian stars of 2022. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2023 as the ever-changing creator landscape evolves.
