The first official night off TIFF kicked off with Toronto Life’s Most Stylish Event at the Shangri-La Hotel. Guests included the regular fixtures on Toronto’s elite nightlife scene and in the fashion world, homegrown celebs and a refreshing amount of unfamiliar faces – perhaps out-of-towners in town for the fest.
Held between 6:30-9:30, the party marked the first stop in the evening before guests headed off to the opening night party at Maple Leaf Square, Nikki Beach at The Spoke Club, the Thompson rooftop or any luxury hotel lobby bars – or perhaps all.
As expected, the event was filled with an overwhelming abundance of eye candy in the fashion department, with the guys and the ladies looking just as great (if not better) as the movie stars who have descended upon Toronto’s streets. Here’s what some of Toronto’s most stylish are wearing this TIFF:
Black on White
Whether in the form of printed pants, dresses or blazers, black on white made a noticeable appearance at the party.
Full-length Dresses with Bold Organic Prints
Not only do these impossible-to-miss, figure flattering dresses photograph well on the carpet, they actually look comfortable – a must for the long nights at TIFF.
Statement Making Necklaces
If there is ever a time for the big, bold necklace, it’s at TIFF.
Not your Average Blazer
The chilly evening meant no shortage of blazers, but these were far from your boring business suit- it was all in the details, colours and patterns.
