Three Canadian Airports Named in Top 10 in North America

Canada keeps getting better and better.

Yesterday, our home and native land was ranked as the sixth happiest country in the world by the UN.

Today, Canada kicked ass on the world stage yet again as the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has been recognized for having the “Best Airport in North America”.

According to the latest Skytrax World Airport Awards, Vancouver was also ranked as having the 14th best in the world. Canada’s reign continues, as this mark the seventh consecutive year that YVR has been ranked as the best airport on the continent.

While this is great news, it’s also a bit surprising, because it feels like YVR is always under construction. But clearly the mess is worth it.

The sun isn’t just shining on YVR though, Toronto Pearson Airport was voted as the sixth best in North America, dropping one spot from a fifth place finish last year. And Halifax Stanfield managed to secure 10th place, dropping from 8th spot in 2015.

The annual awards are based on 13.2 million passenger surveys conducted at 550 airports from around the world. The survey measures a number of factors including: comfort, efficiency, signage, airport access, passenger amenities, and friendliness.
