This Weekend: Restobar Peru Pop Up

Being the city in love with the pop-up restaurant such as Toronto is, it should come as no surprise that even tourism boards are getting in on the action. This weekend (July 12th through 15th) at 99 Sudbury, Peru Gourmet Canada is hosting Restobar Peru, bringing the flavours of the South American country to the King West neighbourhood.

Featuring celeb chefs, eclectic recipes, tapas and ceviche galore, Resobar Peru comes at a great time to excite the city’s foodies and neophyte noshers alike. Peruvian cuisine is underrepresented in Toronto, which is partly why Peru Gourmet Canada is looking to impress diners with some amazing regional dishes.

Peru’s famed national dish, ceviche, will play a star role at Restobar. Made with fresh cubes of fish filets marinated with salt, onions, chili peppers and lime and garnished with corn, lettuce and sweet potatoes, ceviche is quintessentially Peruvian. The rest of the menu, designed by world-renowned guest chefs from Peru, will offer a buffet style experience of dishes from all regions of Peru, with a ceviche and pisco bar offering a main attraction showing the diversity of different styles and preparations of the classic dish and drink, respectively.

Head over this weekend for a culinary experience rarely found here in the city, and let the fresh flavours and whimsical nature of Peruvian food tantalize your taste buds.
