This Week In Toronto Music September 8 to 14

Toronto’s music scene can be pretty hectic.

In fact, often the only thing busier than the venues in this city is you. And since we know that a young professional (YP) lifestyle needs a good beat to back it up, we’re going to round up the best shows happening over the next seven days.

Every. Single. Week.

You don’t have to waste any more of your time searching for the next best concert – ‘cause every Monday (or Tuesday after Labour Day), you’ll find it right here.

PORTUGAL THE MAN / SOUND ACADEMY / TUESDAY 7PM
The always interesting rockers are joined by Typhoon and Grouplove Tuesday evening. If you don’t mind heading all the way to Sound Academy and leaving a little early to ensure you manage to get one of the few cabs home, this is where you should be.

METRONOMY / THE HOXTON / WEDNESDAY 8PM
These guys take over The Hoxton Wednesday evening. If you’re hoping for a night of quiet electronic music, you’ll want to spend Wednesday with these English blokes.

SHOUT OUT OUT OUT OUT / ADELAIDE HALL / THURSDAY 9PM
The Edmonton electronic rockers will be at Adelaide Hall on Thursday. You should get out out out out and see them.

HOW TO DRESS WELL / MOD CLUB / FRIDAY 7PM
This week is apparently all about electronic tunes, with How To Dress Well, aka: singer-songwriter, Tom Krell hitting the Mod Club Friday evening. Pretty sure it’s implied that you should look good.

CATL / DAKOTA TAVERN / SATURDAY 8PM
You only need $10 to attend what’s guaranteed to be one of the best nights out you can have at the Dakota Tavern if you love alternative country and a good party. We highly recommend attending this one if you’re unfamiliar with the true wealth of Toronto’s local music scene.
