This Week In Toronto Music: October 14 to 19, 2014

Toronto’s music scene can be pretty hectic.

In fact, often the only thing busier than the venues in this city is you. And since we know that a young professional (YP) lifestyle needs a good beat to back it up, we’re going to round up the best shows happening over the next seven days.

Every. Single. Week.

You don’t have to waste any more of your time searching for the next best concert – ‘cause every Monday you’ll find it right here.

DAMIEN RICE | DANFORTH MUSIC HALL | TUESDAY 7PM
If you’re in the mood for some brooding, singer songwriter Damien Rice will be singing his heart out at the Danforth tonight.

PLACEBO | SOUND ACADEMY | WEDNESDAY 8PM
We all remember hearing Placebo songs in the teen movies of our formative years. Hear Brian Molko’s signature vocals on Wednesday at Sound Academy.

BIG WRECK | DANFORTH MUSIC HALL | THURSDAY 8PM
If you were a Canadian in the 90s, you’ll remember That Song. Get your nostalgia on this Thursday at the Danforth by seeing them relive that one hit.

NEIL YOUNG’UNS | EL MOCAMBO | THURSDAY 9PM
The sad news is true – classic Toronto music venue the El Mocambo is closing (yet again, so hopefully someone else will save it) and to say goodbye, they’re throwing a big Rock n’ Roll Farewell show featuring cover band the Neil Young’uns.

THE WOODEN SKY | LEE’S PALACE | FRIDAY 9PM
Catch the folky Canadian indie rockers at Lee’s for a two-night stand on Friday and Saturday.

FLEETWOOD MAC | AIR CANADA CENTRE | SATURDAY 7PM
The classic 70s band is reunited for the first time in 16 years. Yes, this time they will be joined by Christine McVie, meaning you’ll get to hear all the songs on Rumours, instead of just Stevie’s.
