This Week in Toronto Music: July 28 to August 3, 2014

By Lisa Lagace

Toronto’s music scene can be pretty hectic.

In fact, often the only thing busier than the venues in this city is you. And since we know that a young professional (YP) lifestyle needs a good beat to back it up, we’re going to round up the best shows happening over the next seven days.

Every. Single. Week.

You don’t have to waste any more of your time searching for the next best concert – ‘cause every Monday you’ll find it right here.

WIZ KHALIIFA / MOLSON AMPHITHEATRE / TUESDAY 8PM
The rapper takes the stage at the Amphitheatre Tuesday night, so prepare to have the song Black and Yellow stuck in your head all week.

CEELO GREEN / MOLSON AMPHITHEATRE / WEDNESDAY 6PM
The Voice judge is using his time off while Usher fills his seat to tour with Lionel Ritchie. Turns out it was Nicole’s dad that CeeLo was looking for

JACK WHITE / AIR CANADA CENTRE / THURSDAY 7PM
If you only get to see one show this week, this should be that one.

NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS / SONY CENTRE / THURSDAY 7PM
If you’re looking for something a little darker on Thursday, head to the Sony Centre for Nick Cave’s incredibly deep, creepy, and legendary vocals.

OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW / ECHO BEACH / THURSDAY 6PM
Catch these Grammy Award winners on tour for their recent release, Remedy, at everyone’s favourite beachy music venue.

MODEST MOUSE & KEVIN DREW / ECHO BEACH / FRIDAY 7PM
If you can only see one show this week – and you miss Jack White – this should be it. One of the best double bills Toronto has seen in a long time, featuring one of our very own. Of course, if Zach shows up all the better.

OUTKAST / MOLSON AMPHITHEATRE / SUNDAY 7PM
Outkast brings their highly anticipated reunion to Toronto for the first night of Drake’s yearly hometown celebration, OVO Fest.
