Toronto’s music scene can be pretty hectic.
In fact, often the only thing busier than the venues in this city is you. And since we know that a young professional (YP) lifestyle needs a good beat to back it up, we’re going to round up the best shows happening over the next seven days.
Every. Single. Week.
You don’t have to waste any more of your time searching for the next best concert – ‘cause every Monday you’ll find it right here…
LIAM FINN / HORSESHOE TAVERN / MONDAY 8:30PM
Collective Concerts brings New Zealand’s indie darling to the city tonight to play his dreamy pop tunes.
GAVIN DEGRAW / SOUND ACADEMY / WEDNESDAY 7PM
The pop rocker makes his Toronto stop on Wednesday night, but fair warning: it requires going all the way out to impossible-to-find-a-cab-after Sound Academy.
EDGEFEST / ECHO BEACH / FRIDAY 5PM
Edgefest deconstructed its long running, all-day, multi-stage music festival this year in favour of a series of shows throughout the summer at Echo Beach – this month’s lineup includes USS, MS MR, Wildlife, Said The Whale, Bear Hands and more.
KATY PERRY / AIR CANADA CENTRE / FRIDAY & SATURDAY 7:30PM
The pop darling brings her Prismatic World Tour to Toronto this weekend, playing both Friday and Saturday night, as well as Monday.
DWAYNE GRETZKY / YONGE-DUNDAS SQUARE / FRIDAY 8PM
The cover band to end all cover bands plays all your favourite classic rock staples on Friday night at YD Square. If you somehow haven’t seen them yet, you’re making a huge mistake.
TIME FESTIVAL / FORT YORK / SATURDAY 1PM
This one-day festival brings another round of music to Fort York, this time featuring St. Lucia, Grimes, Action Bronson, Flume, Smith Westerns, Charli XCX and more.
SCOTT WEILAND / DANFORTH MUSIC HALL / SATURDAY 7PM
The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman plays with his new backing band The Wildabouts on Saturday night, but after all the legal drama with his former band, you probably shouldn’t expect to hear any STP songs.
BRAIDS / WRONGBAR / SATURDAY 10PM
Another Polaris-nominated band of pure Canadian talent takes the stage at Wrongbar on Saturday. Show up to get lost in their experimental post-rock.
TIM MCGRAW/ MOLSON CANADIAN AMPHITHEATER / SUNDAY 7PM
If you happen to be one of those people who are really into modern country music, then you’ve likely had this show on your Sunday night radar for months.
