This Week in Toronto Music: August 25 to August 31, 2014

By Lisa Lagace

Toronto’s music scene can be pretty hectic.

In fact, often the only thing busier than the venues in this city is you. And since we know that a young professional (YP) lifestyle needs a good beat to back it up, we’re going to round up the best shows happening over the next seven days.

Every. Single. Week.

You don’t have to waste any more of your time searching for the next best concert – ‘cause every Monday you’ll find it right here.

ROBYN & ROYKSOPP / ECHO BEACH / MONDAY 7PM
The dance pop legend has joined forces with the electronic duo to create something entirely new. Start off your week dancing on your own.

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS / AIR CANADA CENTRE / TUESDAY 6:30PM
The classic rocker and his band take the ACC stage on Tuesday. Be prepared to have Free Fallin’ stuck in your head all week.

APRIL WINE / CNE / WEDNESDAY 7PM
If you want to check out your dad’s favourite band, April Wine will be at the CNE Wednesday.

CHRIS ISAAK / MASSEY HALL / WEDNESDAY 7PM
Fill your need for soulful crooning Wednesday night at Massey. We promise it’s not a Wicked Game.

HANSON / CNE / THURSDAY 7PM
If you were a teenage girl in the late 90s, you will probably be at the CNE Thursday evening for this one. MMMnostalgia

ARCADE FIRE / MOLSON AMPHITHEATRE / FRIDAY 6PM
Montreal’s greatest export brings the Reflektors to the Amphitheatre Friday evening. Don’t forget the dress code – formal attire, or, your best costume. This is hipster culture 2.0.

TOM COCHRANE / CNE / SATURDAY 8PM
This is a good week for dad rock. If you want to scream Life Is A Highway with your friends after eating tons of fried food and probably throwing up on the Zipper, be at the CNE Saturday night.
