This Video of South African Firefighters Here to Help Fort McMurray Will Make Your Day

Hanging out at the airport is the last thing you want to do after arriving at your destination.

Unless you’re one of 281 South African firefighters who landed in Edmonton Sunday evening. Instead of grabbing their bags and making for the exit, they danced and sang.

The courageous men and women are in Edmonton for a two-week deployment to help battle the wildfire that has already swallowed 580,000 hectares of land in Fort McMurray and its surrounding area.

Performing a collection of traditional South African soldier songs, a video of the firefighters’ jolly time was uploaded to Facebook.

It’s refreshing to see such positive energy during a fragile time when many Canadians have lost their homes and all of their belongings.
