London, UK, design professional, Josh Renouf has created The Barisieur, an alarm clock that wakes you up by brewing coffee.
Not only is it gorgeous to look at, its method for stirring you from your slumber borders on the exquisite. According to Renouf’s site:
“It eases the user into the day with the subtle movement of stainless steel ball bearings that boil the water through induction heating, accompanied by the smell of freshly brewed coffee. It encourages a ritual before going to sleep, signaling to the body and mind that it is time to unwind and relax. Living slow even when times are fast.”
You wake up to the smell and soothing sound of your coffee being brewed beside your bed. Bad days simply don’t exist after mornings like this.
Renouf is still in the process of developing The Barisieur for 2015 (though the site suggests an estimated retail price of £200-250), so for now you can only fill out a form and wait in perpetual angst for the chance to wake up perfectly.
