This Might Be the Best Way to Spend New Year’s Eve in Calgary

Relax.

We’re not sending you on a wild goose chase.

We’re just telling you that you need to pick up your phone and make reservations at Model Milk ASAP.

Unbeknownst to many YYC residents, chef/owner Justin Leboe is opening up the doors to his latest project ‘PDR’ (Private Dining Room) on December 31st and you’ll want to be the first to check out a project that’s been kept under wraps all year.

The best part is that you don’t need to stray far from 17th Avenue’s favourite restaurant to get to PDR. In fact, what’s sure to be one of the best new spots in 2015 is actually just a right turn up the stairs from the Model Milk dining room.

A long forgotten space that was once part of the old Republik bar, PDR has gotten a whole lot of love and a fancy new makeover with mood lighting, sleek tables, and a raised bar that will make you feel like you’ve just stepped into a house party somewhere in Upper Mount Royal.

And when we say mood lighting, we mean this is the kind of lighting that makes everyone look good.

On New Year’s Eve, Leboe is doing Calgary a solid by not charging cover and only asking people to make a reservation. If getting white girl wasted or going bananas on the dance floor just isn’t part of your agenda this year, you’ll be right at home with first rate bar snacks (hello deviled eggs), lots of bubbles, and some sweet tunes to make the end of 2014 even memorable.

As the name suggests, PDR will serve as Calgary’s best new option for private parties. Designed as a space capable of catering to a variety of events, this beautiful spot will only be open to the public on special occasions. In fact, rumour has it that PDR won’t be hosting another public event until Valentine’s Day.

So don’t miss this NYE party – we’ll you at the PDR bar top tonight.
