This Harvard Business Grad Will Pay You $10,000 if You Can Find Him a Girlfriend

We’ll be the first to admit that dating can get frustrating.

One failed date after another can be nothing short of cumulatively depressing.

That’s why one young professional from Birmingham, Alabama has decided to take a proactive approach. And no – we’re not talking about online dating (well, not really).

After 30 unsuccessful dates in the past ten months, 29-year-old Ren Lu You is willing to dish out $10,000 if you find him a girlfriend. He set up a website called dateren.com, where people can submit female friends who may be a good match for You. If You and the female end up dating for more than six months, he’ll pay $10,000 to the lucky matchmaking genius who set them up.

If you submit yourself, however, you’re not eligible for the cash reward. Sorry, ladies.

You’s not too shabby of a catch either; he’s a recent Harvard Business School graduate and works full-time as a private equity associate. Plus, judging from his pictures, he looks like a pretty fun guy.

Like most singles out there, prior to starting his own website, You grew tired by the traditional dating methods – setups via friends and coworkers, online sites, and dating apps. Getting that first date wasn’t an issue; finding someone he could potentially spend the rest of his life with was.

Sound familiar?

To You, his website – complete with its reward incentive – is the way to go. As he writes on the site:

“…look at it this way: if you work 12 hours/day, how would you want to spend the few waking hours you have left? Probably not standing around in a bar with your fingers crossed. This is way more fun for me.”

If you know a young single professional who’d be a fit, your winter vacation prospects could be a lot more promising come January…
