This Family is Living in the Tree House of Your Dreams

As a kid, having a tree house in your backyard was definitely something to brag about.

Whether you had one or not, once you were ever inside one (score), it was pretty much inevitable that you’d imagine what it would be like to live inside of a tree house…forever.

Well, some kids don’t have to imagine.

‘Cause they live with their parents in a castle-like getaway in the trees – a project by Blue Forest titled “Living the Highlife Tree House.” With two completely separate lofts – connected by bridge – the family lives comfortably in their completely modern dream (tree) home.

The kids and the parents both have their own spaces to hideaway, get creative, or – like we would – daydream their day away.

Things like a swinging rope bridge, a trap door, and an outdoor zip line make the home pretty much the coolest place to grow up. The home’s peaked towers – reminiscent of Medieval Days – make it easy to imagine the home as a magical castle in the forest.

Other perks for the kids include an adventure play area complete with a miniture castle, a gaming room fit for royalty, and a full assault course to keep them active.

In the adults’ quarters, there’s a stunning conical thatched roof, and the walls are all made from hand-split shingles and cedar tongue-and-groove boards. Of course, the tree house is loaded with amenities that include a modern, fully functional kitchen and bathroom, a gaming console, and a full screen TV.

Designed around several trees, the interior of the home actually includes the trees themselves.

Suddenly, the walls of our condo just aren’t doing it for us today.
