There’s a Slip n Slide Street Festival Coming to Toronto This Summer

Remember the wonderful summer days of your youth, when life was nothing more than playing outside with friends in the backyard?

Maybe you ran through sprinklers, maybe you had a little backyard pool.

But the lucky ones always had a Slip-n-Slide.

Well, this summer, you can relive those days without having to go back to your childhood home, ‘cause there’s a touring day festival called Slide the City that’s bringing that glory right to downtown Toronto.

Slide the City has traveled to basically every major city in the United States – and it’s finally coming to Canada.

Their 1000-foot water slide spans the length of more than three football fields, will be placed on a major downtown street (no official location has been announced yet but we’d put money on a section of Yonge or Queen), and is seriously padded – so you don’t have to worry about potentially hurting yourself on the hot Toronto summer asphalt.

Every event is a party in itself, so expect a day filled with food vendors, drinks, music, and water gun fights.

The price to slide varies – early registration for one round on the slide is $15 (and you have to bring your own tube), three slides start at $30 and include the necessary tube, plus a mouth guard (?!) and water gun, while VIP starts at $50 and allows you to slide all day long – plus one hour before and one hour after the event begins and ends.

This summer is looking to be legendary, with a new music festival, the Pan Am Games, and now this.

Yes, you can start getting excited now – ‘cause it’s time to party like it’s 1988.
