The Young Professional’s Guide to Halloween 2013 in Montreal

Starlight Halloween Soiree
After its great success last year, the Starlight Halloween Soiree is back, and this time travelling back in time. The evening of the festive Halloween costume gala will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Time Supperclub. Upon arrival, guests will travel in time through the costumes, sets and music cults from various decades of the 20th century. Throughout the evening, unusual and interactive experiences will be prominent to help guests reminisce their favorite era. True to previous years, the glamour of Starlight Halloween Soiree will include a red carpet, DJ, a decadent candy bar and a fabulous open bar. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund pediatric programs helping entire families to cope with the pain, fear and loneliness caused by diseases to children, and to help more than 5,000 children monthly in Quebec.

Monde Ose’s Dia de Los Muertos: Halloween Ball at Velvet/Auberge Saint Gabriel
It’s on one of two “spirit nights,” October 31st and November 1st, that the veil between the living and the dead are most thin. On Friday, November 1st, join Mode Ose’s celebration of the dead in collaboration with Velvet, bringing you their most elaborate Halloween party to date. On this faithful Friday evening, Monde Osé returns to Auberge Saint Gabriel where you can expect 2 private rooms, 2 distinct energies and 2 incredible DJs where a crowd of 450 Halloweeners will be present.  The underground vibe of Velvet is the perfect setting for a spooky and creepy Halloween vibe, so get your inner ghoul ready to party!

Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is back to rock at Montreal’s most beautiful vintage theatre in the heart of the Quartier des Spéctacles! Still being the only Rocky Horror event in town that gives you the original cult classic movie, fans of the movie can see Tim Curry, Richard O’Brien, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf on the big screen while a large cast performs live on stage with wild audience participation. A true classic gem!

Kill Halloween
It’s that time of year again; Kill Halloween is back and it’s their biggest one yet! At Kill Halloween you will experience much more than just music – with an emphasis on the party as a complete package, they have assembled a team of organizers who are going above and beyond to provide patrons with an experience that will leave everyone in attendance with their jaws on the floor and their hands in the air. LNDMRK, the masterminds behind the critically acclaimed Mural festival, will be running stage design, and Blake Snake Circus will have acrobats and  performers pushing the boundaries of the human body. Fool’s Gold Records’ Oliver, as well as some of Montreal’s fastest growing talent in Tommy Kruise and High Klassified, will accompany a live performance from the legendary Boys Noize. This is an opportunity to bring people out of their comfort zone and into a new world where music and art reign king to provide something yet to be seen. For tickets, click here

Soul Train At Joverse
On Saturday, November 2nd, the scarily stylish Joverse transforms into a giant dance floor, and invites you to come pay homage to that 70s funky-cult dance show called “Soul Train.” During 35 years, from 1971 to 2006, Soul Train revolutionized American television, and made four generations dance with the biggest hits of R&B, Funk, Soul, and Hip Hop. Remember the illustrious Soul Train host Don Cornelius, all those sky-high afros, bell bottom elephant pants, and funky cool smooth moves? Come dressed the part, and get into the spirit of funkiness; not just 70s attire, but funky, cool 70s attire is required. With the best time-honoured beats re-mixed with a smattering of disco house, you will dance – and that’s a promise!

Fright Fest at La Ronde
Who dosen’t love a little haunted house on halloween? The annual fright fest at La Ronde runs until October 27th and offers chilling entertainment with creepy haunted houses by the names of District 510, Death Row, Massacre Museum and the new doll’s house. If that’s not freaky enough, you can visit and meet disturbing creatures in the vampire lair and the cemetery. Still not scared? A group of zombies will be happy to welcome you in their new lounge on the park grounds and… chat.

The Montreal Incognito Masked Ball

A chic way to celebrate Halloween and also a great networking opportunity. This year, the venue will be hotter than ever in a new location: Les Entrepôts Dominion. On the agenda: a classy crowd and ambiance, open bar, great beats from internationally-known DJ Puppa Sacha, a silent auction to treat yourself to one of the fabulous auction prizes up for grabs, and so much more!  A formal look is required so dress to impress!
