The Women’s Winter White Trend 2013

We were forever advised not to wear white after Labour Day, but after making one of the strongest impressions on the runway this season, we saw how elegant an all-white ensemble in the winter can look and our worries about this once fashion faux pas have diminished.

If you are still skeptical on the all-white trend, opting for a dimmer hue like cream, ivory or beige and pairing with some brown accessories helps to dilute the look.

Adding bright red lips, nails and/or accessories gives your white look some additional drama.

White jeans are not out of the question, but be sure to pair them with less summery-seeming pieces. Layering white jeans with a chunky knit, a moto jacket and topping off with an icy statement necklace and classic pump refreshes this typical summer staple.

One of this season’s fundamentals is the white overcoat. Sporting pale outerwear with jeans, an ankle boot and a standout scarf has been one of the most effortless looks of the season.

To glamourize this angelic trend, choose a glitzy, embellished dress and pair with a classic pump and sparkling accessories. This look is perfect for the holidays.

Using all white, modern separates is celebrated this winter. The white trouser is a strong staple and works wonderfully with every YP, whether it be cropped, tailored or billowy to create a classic and chic look.

When attempting the white winter trend, you must keep one critical principal in mind: fabric is the key. Veer away from lighter fabrics in the colder months of fall and winter and work with more substantial textures like cashmere, leather, wool and silk; you will be sure to ignite a love affair to this once confrontational trend.
