The Top 11 Places to Get Married in Toronto

By Lisa Lagace

We all know summer is wedding season.

And while the occasions themselves can get tiresome if you’re not sitting at the wedding table (aka: after the fourth one in five weekends they’re all the same), if you were lucky enough to get invited to a wedding taking place at one of these locations, you shouldn’t take it for granted.

In fact, these 11 locales are so good we’d even suggest crashing a few weddings – just make sure you have your backstory straight

Distillery District
Everyone’s favourite brick-lined community in Toronto makes for a gorgeous setting to tie the knot. It’s a transformative place that allows you to feel like you’re getting married in Europe while keeping your bill local.

Evergreen Brick Works
As if the food events that take place here weren’t enough motivation, the serene outdoor space is something you won’t find anywhere downtown. The photo ops alone make it worth the trip out there for your guests.

Malaparte
This gorgeous location boasts a breathtaking view of the city atop the TIFF building and some of the best food you’ll ever consume. In fact, we like it so much we throw Notable events here.

Casa Loma
Really? We need to explain this one? It’s a castle. A CASTLE.

Black Creek Pioneer Village
If you’re looking to really surprise your friends, go old school with a wedding at Black Creek Pioneer Village and ask your guests to dress in their best pioneer-style duds. Who doesn’t love partying like it’s 1899?

The Gladstone Hotel
If you’re going the hotel route, The Gladstone wins our stamp of approval for its rich history and creativity. A wedding here will not be the formulaic kind – the couple can easily create a unique theme that truly represents them. Not to mention there’s a place for everyone to crash.

AGO
For both the art lover and the architecture lover, a wedding at the AGO can’t be beat. Tying the knot next to a masterpiece isn’t a bad way to start a life together.

Allen Gardens
For a perfect outdoor wedding, getting hitched amidst these incredible gardens will make for a day full of happy guests taking selfies among the flowers. Added bonus: you don’t need a florist at a botanical garden.

Berkeley Church
If you’re one of those people who HAS to get married in a church, this is definitely the spot to do it. It’s one of the most character-filled buildings in Toronto and strict parents and relatives alike will still be satisfied.

St Lawrence Hall
The Hall offers a full floor on the 3rd level of a gorgeous heritage building on King E., just a block from the best market in the city.

99 Sudbury
For a hipper choice, there’s always 99 Sudbury. This classy venue is where all the cool kids seem to be saying their (hipster) vows these days.
