It felt more like a Saturday than a Wednesday the other night at The Citizen.
The young professional-filled, sold-out Suitcase Party had some of the city’s finest YPs partying in even finer form, keeping the venue packed and the bartenders busy until the very end.
Presented by the Children’s Aid Foundation, the event took Wednesday night to new high-flying standards.
The evening began with a VIP portion from 6-7, where guests enjoyed a free-flowing open bar, Rodney’s Oysters, and mini grilled cheese sandwiches.

A few hours later, a lineup formed outside the venue – one that was well worth the wait.
If you have a soft spot for photo booths (doesn’t everyone?), you had two to choose from – one presented by Air Canada and the other by yours truly – and both were fully stocked with fun photo-completing props.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an Air Canada party if it didn’t involve a few flights. Three sets of winners will soon be packing their suitcases for New York, Miami, or Las Vegas – thanks to some luxury on-site draws.

Also up for grabs was an 18-kt. gold diamond ring, compliments of Royal de Versailles.
Other party perks included a Blue Hour Tequila station, which served up three distinct cocktails inspired by Air Canada destinations Nova Scotia, Bali, and Ireland. They also offered baby (but boozy) Bloody Caesars to wash down Rodney’s oysters.
If whiskey was more your thing, right next door, Gentleman Jack served up their own whiskey-filled cocktails.

And the combo of cocktails, easy-on-the-eyes guests, networking opportunities, and the music of DJ Apple Scratch meant a later than normal Wednesday night for everyone.
In total, the evening raised over $53,000 for the Children’s Aid Foundation.
