The Living Room

The Living Room Restaurant has some great things going for it. In the winter, it’s a place for cozy get-togethers. In the summer, it has a fantastic patio for enjoying the heat.

The Living Room’s lunch menu has meals for every preference, whether it’s for a business meeting with a client, or if you’re knocking off early on a Friday and looking for a good time with your associates. If you’re looking for a great light option, The Living Room is known throughout Calgary for the Watermelon Caprese Salad with Waterton Lakes buffalo mozzarella, ruby watermelon, basil and balsamic pearls, all drizzled with olive oil. The Living Room also offers a variety of delicious sandwiches which could be categorized as upscale comfort food – a popular dining trend in Calgary. The “Grill less” Cheese Sandwich is two slices of toasted muesli fruit bread stuffed with Canadian brie, pink lady apples, spicy mango chutney and arugula.

The Living Room includes what they call “interactive” choices on their dinner and dessert menus. These options are meant for sharing amongst two or more people, and are perfect for group dining. If your table is full of seafood lovers, you might want to consider the Mediterranean Seafood Sampler which includes mussels, tuna carpaccio, scallops and calamari as well as tapenade and antipasto. The ultimate “interactive” food is, of course, the cheese fondue which comes served with bread sticks, but The Living Room offers additional accompaniments including beef tenderloin, lamb popsicle, prawns, veggies and mini four cheese ravioli. For dessert, the options are a chocolate fondue as well as a selection of Canadian cheeses.

Don’t let the high-end food fool you though – The Living Room is also a place where you can grab a great drink. Order a “Shaft” and the first thing they’ll tell you is “It’s not a sipping drink.” Described on the menu as “tall, dark and cool,” The Shaft is made with Kahlua, espresso and skim milk.
