The Best Place in Toronto to Take a Selfie as Voted by You

Hint: it’s not in your Mazda 3 and it has nothing to do with a mirror in your friend’s bathroom. But we’d be lying if we didn’t tell you that the writing was on the wall. Check out which Toronto background you think makes for the best scenic selfie

And the winner is…

Graffiti Alley.

We’re not sure how Kim Kardashian feels about spray paint, but next time she comes to Toronto she’s gonna have to make nice because as far as you’re concerned, this 1km stretch between Spadina and Rush is the best place in the city to take a selfie.

Once the home of the secret swing and Rick Mercer’s weekly commentary, this strip is home to some of the city’s best street art, updated frequently as well as specifically during the summer when a group called Style in Progress goes at it for 24 hours of legal graffiti work.

A close second was the famous Thompson Hotel Rooftop at Bathurst and Wellington. It’s tough to botch a selfie with a gorgeous skyline and beautiful patio in the background. Then in 4th, we had a 4-way tie between the east-leading Raptors, a smiling deadly shark at Ripley’s Aquarium, the Evergreen Brickworks, and your strongest vote from the “Other” category, the Historic Distillery District (especially during this year’s Toronto Christmas Market).

Below you’ll find a breakdown of all the votes. Take a look, and if you disagree with what you see, let us know in the comment section. Or, next time, don’t be so selfie-ish and just vote…
