The 4 Most Comforting Restaurants to Enjoy a Glass of Aveleda This Fall

Sure, the multi-coloured leaves are pretty and crisp air may be hopelessly romantic, but there’s that unmistakable chill outside that comes around this time each fall.

And it kind of gets right into your bones.

Of course, that probably has something to do with you refusing to bust out your wool coat just yet. But we digress.

Fall means oversized sweaters, blankets, blazing fireplaces, wine, and some good old comfort food. Our go-to wine as of late is Aveleda…and here our some of our favourite restaurants to enjoy a glass this fall – alongside some shamelessly comforting cuisine.

Hunter’s Landing
Hunter’s Landing is a great spot for a weekend brunch that never disappoints. And one that’s made even better when enjoyed with a glass of Aveleda.

If you’re looking for a spot to watch the game – any game – Hunters Landing has ample TVs and offers a relaxed pub feel…only with better food. Arrive before 3pm for brunch and order one of their always-reliable eggs benny, like the Hunters, which is complete with lobster and braised beef.

You deserve it after a long week.

Terrazza
After a day of shopping in Yorkville, if you’re looking for a warm and inviting space that serves consistently good, yet simple food, skip over to Harbord to hit up Terrazza.

You can savour your glass of Aveleda alongside some good old-fashioned Italian eats. Notable menu favourites include Jess’ Lasagana – a two-bite meat or veggie lasagna – the avocado salad, and pretty much any of their ample selection of pizzas or pastas.

Because a glass of wine and home-style Italian food is always good for the soul.

Phebe’s Oyster Bar and Zee Grill
If you’re in the mood for some quality fish to go with your glass of Aveleda and don’t happen to be north of Bloor, hit Phebe’s on Mount Pleasant for some of the freshest seafood in the city.

The welcoming environment has a warm and cozy neighbourhood feel that may just entice you to stay for another glass of wine once the bottle’s done (it’s cold outside, after all).

Want proof their doing something right: it’s also one of the city’s longest-running seafood establishments, serving up a comforting selection of lobster, steak, and fish since 1981.

Piri Piri Grill House
What better way to sip a fine Portuguese wine like Aveleda than with some of the most comforting Portuguese food you’ll ever try?

A staple among in-the-know Toronto foodies, Piri Piri Grill House serves up what is arguably some of the best Portugese food in the city and is known particularly for their signature hot piri piri sauce. A glass of Aveleda and a serving of the famous piri piri chicken (complete with fries and rice) is the best way to warm up and unwind after a long week.

With its warm, family-feel, it’s the perfect place to take wither your folks or your clients this fall.
