The 18 Most Instagrammed Spots in Vancouver

Sorry, Toronto. But we’ve got our own thing going on – and it’s pretty damn postable if you ask us.

In fact, we think our city is just about the best municipal gift Instagram’s ever received.

So we searched the app and came up with what we believe are the 18 most Instagrammed spots you’ll find in all of YVR.

The 17 Most Instagrammed Spots in Vancouver

By Notable.ca

  • 18. Canucks

    By Notable.ca

Bandwagoner or die-hard season ticket holder – everyone posts a pic at least once a season.

  • 17. Pride Parade crosswalk

    By Notable.ca

After being coloured in with chalk for the Pride Parade one year, Davie Street gained the permanently colourful crosswalk that embodies nothing but love.

  • 16. We all scream for ice cream

    By Notable.ca

Earnest Ice Cream, Rain or Shine, Bella Gelateria, Le Casa Gelato – the icecream shots are non-stop.

  • 15. Fortune Sound Club: F*ck, I Love You

    By Notable.ca

Need we say much more? It’s the nightlife selfie spot of Chinatown. A mirror with words on it – especially with an explicit twist – bam. Instagram trend.

  • 14. Digital Orca at Jack Poole Plaza

    By Notable.ca

Another structure from Douglas Copeland – the first of his public art – that was installed for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games has become a mainstay as a part of the city’s signature landmarks.

  • 13. Sea to Sky

    By Notable.ca

Maybe a group selfie in the car with the caption ‘”en route to a weekend in Whistler” or the minty-green water body shot while enjoying a beer on the deck atop the Sea to Sky highway trail.

  • 12. Post-run happiness shot

    By Notable.ca

The Vancouver Sun Run, the Underwear Affair, the Color Run, and the BMO Vancouver Marathon – this city clearly likes to run. And the post-run glory shot takes over our feeds on a weekly basis.

  • 11. English Bay sunset

    By Notable.ca

Watching the sunrise or sunset in Vancouver can be epic from numerous locations around town. But, an English Bay sunset is one of the best.

  • 10. Stanley Park view

    By Notable.ca

The top three that fill feeds include the skyline shot from the park, the Canada Place shot, and the boats in the harbour with Stanley Park greenery.

  • 9. Gumhead

    By Notable.ca

Art installations around the city are gaining momentum. When YVR artist Douglas Copeland stuck his giant head outside the VAG last year and invited everyone to stick gum on it., it happened.

  • 8. Kits Beach Pool

    By Notable.ca

Kitsilano Beach is the place to be in the warmer months. The blue pool matches the same colour of the last layer of a turbo rocket Popsicle – completely counteracting the deep English Bay waters.

  • 7. Top of the Grouse Mountain

    By Notable.ca

If you made it up the Grouse Grind, a photo is well deserved just for that. Taking in the backdrop of Stanley Park, the ocean, and the sprawling city below is a welcomed and relaxing break.

  • 6. BC Place

    By Notable.ca

  • 5. Dude Chilling Park

    By Notable.ca

The name pretty much says it all. The park sign itself has had its moment of Insta-fame, not to mention the guys who dressed up at the Dude Chilling Park sign for Halloween.

  • 4. Gastown Steam Clock

    By Notable.ca

This seems to be one that the tourists especially like to snap so on any given day you’ll find more than just Instagrammers surrounding the corner of Water and Cambie as the steam spews out.

  • 3. Crab Park at Portside/Railtown Tracks

    By Notable.ca

A couple mountains might sneak into these shots, but mostly it’s the massive orange cranes from the port and train cars that catch your interest.

  • 2. Landing in YVR

    By Notable.ca

Lush greenery, blue skies and more of what we mentioned above mixed in with a plane wing in the clouds. Is touching down in any other city more majestic than this?

  • 1. Along the Seawall

    By Notable.ca

It doesn’t matter what time of year it is or what the weather is like, shots of the boats in the harbour, the city, the mountains, and the ocean are always in regular rotation.
