To top off yesterday’s Vancouver Weekender, we’ve got a few more notable editions you might, should, must check out this weekend….
Word on the Street – Today through Sunday
The Word on the Street draws out Vancouver bookworms and wordsmiths alike. This novel idea (pun definitely intended) is now in its 17th year celebrating Canada’s literary scene and includes workshops, live readings, musical entertainment and a huge marketplace at allocated areas around the city.
Bard on the Beach – Ends Saturday
This Saturday marks the final curtain call for Bard on the Beach, located along the waterfront in Kitsilano’s Vanier Park. With multiple performances each day until the final sonnet is spoken, it’s your last chance to take in a classic performance and bid adieu to Summer.
Malkin Bowl – Saturday
This Saturday will also act as Summer’s swan-song at the Malkin Bowl with the final outdoor performance featuring Broken Social Scene. This well-known and loved Juno award-winning Canadian band has made their musical mark – and this concert is the perfect way to wind-down a season of performances at this stunning Stanley Park venue. It’s rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather.
