Salt and Pepper
With several locations in Calgary, Salt and Pepper serves up some of the most delicious Mexican food in the city. On Tuesdays, they offer all-you-can-eat tacos for $10.98 as a set of three with your choice of chicken, beef, chorizo or vegetable. Each taco is wrapped in a soft corn tortilla (not the deep-fried hard shells), sprinkled with lettuce and finely shredded mozzarella, and drizzled with sour cream. As an added bonus, the first plate is served with some delicious refried beans and rice.
Tubby Dog
This unique hotspot on 17th Avenue is filled with eye candy, arcade games, projected cartoons, movies and customers and staff from all walks of life. Tubby Dog‘s claim to fame and specialty is their amazing hot dogs, but every Tuesday Tubby Dog steps away from the norm and serves authentic Mexican tacos and tostados. The action starts at 8 p.m. and continues until their tacos sell out, which is almost a guarantee considering the exceptional taste and price (tacos are $2.75; tostados are $3.50). The menu offers beef, pork, chicken, lengua and bean and cheese with all the fixins!
Tilted Grill
Located on 4th Street SW, Tilted Grill brings street food indoors. Tuesday nights are their Taco Tuesday evenings and you won’t be disappointed.
