Supermodel Karlie Kloss Wants to Help Girls Get Into Coding at a Young Age

Coding will play an integral role in shaping the voice of the future – and supermodel Karlie Kloss wants to make sure women will become an important part of the conversation

“I think it’s crucial that young women learn to code as early as possible to ensure that we as young women have a voice and a stake in what the world looks like,” said Kloss in announcing an initiative to reduce the gender gap of those with computer science degrees (only 12% go to women).

The Kode with Karlie scholarship will send 20 girls between the ages of 13 and 18 to learn code at New York’s Flatiron School, a program the fashion star herself has completed.

Those interested in the two-week summer course can submit a 60-second video expressing their desire to learn code.

Way to go, Karlie.
