Millennials will pull as many strings as possible to satisfy their insatiable wanderlust (and, naturally, to document it all on social media).
At a time when cash is tight for everyone, travelling can be damn expensive.
That’s where Podshare comes in.
According to its website, it’s a “social network with a fixed address.” Think, a fusion of a hotel, a hostel and an Airbnb. As its name suggests, travellers can stay in a pod for just $40 a night.
Redefining “minimal travel,” each pod is comprised of three walls, a bed and a TV. The accommodations are complete with a community refrigerator, food, workspaces, a charging station and common bathrooms stocked with toiletries to share.
Whether the idea catches on remains to be seen.
But, in our economy that increasingly favours access over ownership, it looks like the pod-facilitated travel has a good chance of sticking around.
Podshare currently has two locations in Los Angeles and another one coming to Loz Feliz in the near future (something that surely comes in handy for young actors during their ‘pilot season’ stay in L.A.
