Someone Created a Product That Lets You Lick Your Cat

Every once in a while we stumble across a story that forces us to mercy-close our laptop, take a deep breath, and beeline it to the nearest bar.

This is one of those moments.

A couple of people from Portland, obviously, have put their free time and zany quirkiness together to come up with the LICKY Brush, which is essentially a silicone extension of your tongue that allows you to lick your cat.

“Cats groom each other as a form of social bonding. There’s also evidence to suggest that cats view and treat their human captors as large cats,” reads the product’s Kickstarter page, masquerading scientific justification for its creation.

“We have designed LICKI brush to bring you and your cat closer. By using LICKI with your cat on a regular basis, you’ll develop a more intimate and bonded relationship, much like a mama cat bonds with her young.”

The benefits of the brush are five-fold, according to its founders: it’s an oddly meditative practice, makes grooming more fun, develops a deeper relationship between human and cat, is great for licking parties, and some empty words about change.

The project has so far raised over $15,000, a clear indication that characters from Portlandia should not have access to crowdfunding services.
