Sol Sunbelt Cookery Grand Opening Party

Always up for an excuse to be notably social, we snuck out of the office a bit early on Tuesday and made our way to neighbouring Coal Harbour newcomer Sol Sunbelt Cookery to check out the grand opening festivities.

With blue skies, sunshine and plenty of party people ready to celebrate the latest endeavour from Gord Martin and Abdel Elatouabi located at the foot of Denman, this event was a hit for Vancouver’s VIP media and food personalities. With at least a dozen different sponsored wine stations scattered throughout the newly redesigned and colourful space, there was plenty in the way of libations to be had. We opted to start off with a glass of bubbles as we made our way out onto the packed patio to do a little mingling and then opted to move on to sample the various other BC and international wines offered as we took in the stunning waterfront scene.

Fresh shucked oysters were on the menu, as were Sol’s signature spiced Moroccan chickpeas (highly addictive) and specialty Turkish flatbread, as well as brie-stuffed doughnuts, lightly breaded prawns, tuna tartare and more that helped fuel the party well into the night.

This is one new neighbourhood spot we’ll definitely be back to.

Sol Sunbelt Cookery is located at 550 Denman with plenty of street and lot parking available. For more info, click here, and check out our event gallery photos.
