Sip and Shop at City Bar’s Cinq a Sept

Have you heard about City Bar yet? It isn’t your typical coffee shop. Just a stroll up the stairs at Queen West’s Lavish and Squalor (a local hipster favourite that features a premium selection of apparel and novelty items), you’ll find some of the finest espresso in the city along with a tea bar. Browse by after work on a Friday, and you will stumble upon a gathering of cocktail-loving young people for their weekly Cinq a Sept. Talk about multifunctional.

The independent life and style shop added a coffee/tea house to its functions this past spring, offering a chance for customers to sip a rare and exotic tea from around the world as they browse the racks, or sit and warm up with a genuine espresso. The cozy seats invite guests to stay a while for a break from shopping or catch up with friends.

Keeping it simple, City Bar is an old-fashioned espresso bar, free of overly complicated and over-the-top caffeine beverages or baked goods. With a focus on espresso, City Bar offers options like Cafe Miel, an espresso with steamed milk, cinnamon and honey, or the Dirty Chai, an espresso and chai tea, with the option of steamed milk.

City Bar’s Cinq a Sept cocktail event runs each Friday from 6pm to 8pm, with complimentary drink tastings to kick off the weekend properly. Check City Bar’s Facebook page each Friday for more information.
