Shinji Bar is Officially Opening Tonight

Do you wonder what happened to Little Burgundy’s Rufus Rockhead Bar?

Then keep reading.

Restaurant Shinji, known for their traditional but exotic Japanese cuisine, is celebrating its first anniversary with the opening of their newly added Shinji Bar tonight.

The 65-seat establishment will be located in the space adjacent to Shinji at 1726 Notre-Dame West.

With Shinji showing no signs of slowing down, it was only natural for them to expand… right next door.

Olivier Bernaki (former owner of Candi Bar and owner of the Phoenix 1 food truck) is joining Jeff Stinco and Éric Lefrançois as owner of Shinji Bar. Shinji Nagai will be the chef at Shinji Bar as well.

The menu at the bar is intended for sharing, featuring oysters, calamari, prime rib and horse.

“Shinji Nagai and I have a mission: to introduce authentic Japanese cuisine to Montreal. With Shinji Bar, we can pursue that mission while building on a strong base,” says owner Jeff Stinco.

Opening hours will be the same as Shinji (Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.) until the spring, when foodies will be able to enjoy the patio at noon and sip wine, sake and specialty cocktails.
