Starbucks Ends War on Christmas; Santa and Reindeers Likely Returning to Holiday Cups

Despite the claims of some, it turns out Starbucks may not want to kill off Christmas after all.

The snowflakes, candy canes and other holiday symbols will likely return to grace the red Starbucks holiday cups this year after a brief hiatus.

As you may recall, last year’s toned-down red cups caused quite the uproar from disgruntled caffeine consumers – fuelled by Donald Trump’s suggestions to boycott the brand – who claimed the coffee giant wanted to wage a war on Christmas.

Though Starbucks was scheduled to roll out the cups to stores tomorrow, according to the Associated Press, a New York City store had a display Tuesday that featured 10 different cups designed by customers around the world.

And yes, some feature Christmas symbols like Santa Clause, reindeer and ornaments.

Starbucks Corp. said its plans are still under wraps and wouldn’t confirm whether the cups on display were the holiday ones.

The forward-thinking company has released holiday cups every year since 1997.
