Romero Britto Brings Pop and Color to Montreal

On Wednesday, June 18th, over 60 guests attended Romero Britto’s exclusive 5a7 Pop-Up Exhibition put on by Rose PR at 1434 Sherbrooke St. O.

Guests spent the evening enjoying complimentary wine, beats by DJ Jay London, and, most importantly, a variety of serigraphs as well as a selection of original works by the renowned pop artist.

Romero Britto is represented in galleries and museums across five continents. Opening in Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre, Salon de la Societé National des Beaux Arts, in December, 2008, Britto unveiled “Journey” to hundreds of guests. “…Matisse channeling Picasso” wrote the New York Times when Britto created a living canvas performed by the Cirque du Soleil in celebration of Super Bowl XLI.

His style creates a completely new expression that reflects his optimistic faith in the world around him. Alluding to influences of early and modern masters, Britto’s pulsating colours, pop themes and commanding compositions have led him to become the premier contemporary artist of his generation – and now we have him here, in Montreal.

Jaclyn Griner, the gallery curator where Britto’s work is showing, handpicked each painting with Romero Britto himself. This is the first time his art has been displayed in Canada and will continue until July 31st, 2014.
