Rock the ‘Walk II to Bring East Village to Life

Rock the Walk is back this year, bigger and better. Celebrating the RiverWalk pathway along the beautiful Bow River in East Village, it’s bound to be jammed with the city’s movers, shakers, and young professionals.

Taking place August 18 from noon to 5 pm on RiverWalk behind the Simmons Building in East Village (618 Confluence Way SE), it’s a free outdoor party with tons happening.

The energy is bound to be high thanks to live performances by three local bands: Hello Moth (playing from 12:30pm to 1:15pm),
Lauren Mann and the Fairly Odd Folk (playing from 1:30pm to 2:15pm), and
Reuben Bullock and The Dark (playing from 2:30pm to 3:30pm). What could be better than watching live music while relaxing next to the Bow River?

Market Collective will also be on site with over 20 vendors. Not your typical market, they will be showcasing work and pieces by local artists and artisans. Peruse the various booths where you are bound to find some unique and amazing stuff.

For those who are a little puckish, not to worry, several of Calgary’s best food trucks will be on hand selling their tasty fare to those in attendance.

While down we also suggest popping into the East Village Experience Centre to learn more about what is happening in regards to the development of the much-anticipated East Village. Within the Experience Centre are the builders for the first two residential buildings set to be built; we definitely think the East Village is worth considering for young professionals in the market for a new condo.

Last year’s inaugural event brought together some of the city’s finest and this year is sure to rival. So grab some friends, and sunscreen, and make a day of it. For more information click here.
