Regional Tasting Lounge

Take a culinary cruise around the world without ever leaving Vancouver. Regional Tasting Lounge is a chic Yaletown spot, well-loved among the cocktail-crowd and foodies alike. The unique concept is centred on regional cuisine of several countries – complimented by that of the West Coast.

This eatery is a favourite of Vancouver Canucks fans, in part because it shows all games in-house, but also because of its unique menu. Naturally, r.tl offers plates meant for sharing that are perfect when you want to eat and enjoy the game with your friends. The Paradise Valley Free Range Pork Belly with grape chutney and brussels sprout slaw, or the Chipotle Mussels with white wine, shallots, cilantro and garlic toast are sure to delight all.

Regional Tasting Lounge has two different prix fixe menus, with an optional wine pairing for those nights when you want your dinner choice to be quick and easy. At Regional Tasting Lounge, you’re sure to be satisfied by any option you choose.

You’ll want to check out the Oak Barrel Smoked Duck with walnuts, extra virgin olive oil in a balsamic reduction in the “Nibble” section of the menu, as well as the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Breast with spinach walnut mango salad and orange dressing. For dessert, you can be well-assured that the 12-minute wait mentioned on the menu for the Apple Turnover (served with rum caramel and vanilla ice cream) is well worth it.

Regional Tasting Lounge’s cocktail menu is separated into two sections: “Fresh and Fun” and “Bold and Unique,” and each section features surprising and excited beverages. In the former section, the Va Va Voom is sure to bit a hit, as it’s made with vanilla vodka, saffron syrup, peach liqueur, passion fruit, organic apple, lemon juice and egg white. For Vancouver wine lovers, dining here is ideal as they offer 25 different wines by the glass.

Every four months, the food regions change in order to maintain the freshest offering of locally-sourced ingredients and exciting menu options. Regional Tasting Lounge, 1130 Mainland Street, Yaletown, Vancouver.
