Reel Artist Film Festival

Reel Artists Film Festival (RAFF), presented by the Canadian Art Foundation is back for its 11th year. If you’ve been looking to expand your art knowledge, now is your chance. It is North America’s only festival devoted exclusively to documentary films on visual art and artists. The festival will showcase international feature-length and short documentaries that address challenges and questions raised by artists and there will be panel discussions throughout the week. This year’s selection of films takes audiences behind the scenes, as artists experiment with new concepts, materials and subjects in their practices. Issues of representation, legacy and private-versus-public are explored in these revealing and thought-provoking films.

RAFF’s Opening Night Gala at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on February 19th features the exclusive premiere of Kehinde Wiley: An Economy of Grace. The film documents the collaboration between New York-based painter Kehinde Wiley and Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci for Wiley’s latest exhibit. Tickets to the dinner gala are $175/ticket.
