On Sunday, September 6th, Red Bull will host a four-wheeled, human-powered challenge in Montreal’s Square Victoria for the first time ever.
The Soapbox Derby is finally coming to our city after being hosted in more than 46 other countries.
La Course Red Bull Boîte à Savon is a unique, fun, and non-motorized racing event that challenges participants to build outlandish, human-powered soapbox dream machines, and compete against other teams in a downhill race.
The best part?
Anyone can release their inner speed demon.
Creative and brave souls from all areas of expertise in building or engineering are highly encouraged to submit their most imaginative man-powered ideas in hopes of being selected to participate on the official event.
And if you’re curious as to what wacky ideas previous competition came up with, let’s just say the roster includes a piano, a giant baby carriage, a rodeo clown, and a massive corn on the cob.
Talk about getting those creative juices flowing.
Participants will be judged on a variety of criteria including; speed, creativity, and showmanship when they descend the challenging track Labour Day weekend.
