Recap: Wear Else Charity Fashion Show

On Tuesday evening, we rubbed elbows with other fashionably chic notables at the newly redesigned – and fully stocked – Wear Else boutique in Vancouver’s trendy Kitsilano neighbourhood.

This popular annual fashion event showcased the latest trends for Fall/Winter 2011 with a new, charitable twist. This year, ticket proceeds and a percentage of the evening’s sales went to support the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre Foundation. This is a truly noteworthy cause we were more than happy to open our wallets for.

As a young professional, this event provided the perfect backdrop for some style-savvy networking. We mingled with like-minded attendees and met dozens of inspiring and accomplished business women who, like us, were set on spending some coin for a great cause.

Channelling our inner ‘Gisele’ (champagne in hand) we took notes from Wear Else founder and owner (a notable YP herself), Zahra Mamdani as she led us through the seasonal must-haves and how-to’s. Assisting her throughout the evening was the charmingly funny-as-always Dawn Chubai (co-host on Vancouver’s CityTV Breakfast Television).

Due to popular demand (and to increase charitable profits for BC Women’s) this year’s show has doubled-up on the shopping fun with an additional event taking place on Friday, September 30th at the Park Royal location of Wear Else in West Vancouver.
