Recap: The Wine Yacht

Last week, the Vancouver Notable team hopped aboard the launch of The Wine Yacht in Coal Harbour. A quick walk along the marina seawall landed us at this newly decked-out (pun intended) yacht, measuring at about 110 ft. in length, and conveniently located just next to one of our favourites: Lift Bar + Grill.

We were greeted by the girls behind House Wine (previously featured as a YEDaily) and offered a glass of wine and debriefed of the new culinary concept adopted onboard: wines are paired with customized dishes meant to enhance the overall tasting experience for guests. It was explained that the ship’s Executive Chef, Natasha Harris, worked hard to provide Ocean Wise, locally sourced, organic goods to guest where possible – adopting the 100-mile rule for many of her tasting style dishes.

We found plenty to nosh on at a multitude of pairing stations spread throughout three spacious, beautifully decorated floors – all offering a 360-degree view of the Coal Harbour marina and North Shore Mountains.

Sipping a glass of chardonnay (courtesy of the award-winning Painted Rock Estate Winery), we made our way through the post-work crowd that had begun to trickle in full-force and made our way upstairs to the mid-deck bar area to do a little networking. We found ourselves surrounded by plenty of young professionals enjoying the laidback feel of The Wine Yacht’s open concept space and luxe atmosphere.
