Last night’s LinkedIn Summer Media Soiree produced by Notable.ca was, as is usual in our world, a smashing success. JOEY Eaton Centre played the perfect host to this evening of schmoozing and networking, and INtinis and hors d’oeuvres. Some of Toronto’s most notable YPs in the media industry gathered to make new acquaintances, sip cocktails, and spend the humid summer night tweeting away to win some phenomenal prizes courtesy LinkedIn.
The evening kicked off at 5:30pm, an appropriate apres-work time, and after a few minutes the open-air room at JOEY Eaton Centre was already brimming with notables. LinkedIn is the best social network and business tool online, and so it comes as no surprise that career-minded young professionals flocked to this event in droves. Italian flatbreads, tuna chopsticks, butter chicken bowls, and one-bite strawberry shortcakes were circulated by JOEY’s chic servers, while the signature blue INtinis were spotted at every table. LinkedIn M&Ms were popped open as convos ranged from everything from work to favourite pastimes to the impending storm. Twitter was aflitter with the #LinkedInSummer hashtag, which not surprisingly became a trending topic in Toronto. Prizes like AmEx Gift Cards, LinkedIn tees and a Motorola XOOM were won, but the big winner was Alana Sullivan who left with a 40” Samsung LCD TV.
