Recap: Apothic Red Ontario Launch Party

Apothic Red – a whimsical blend of Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon – launched its way into the Ontario wine market last week, and celebrated with a chic party emceed by Notable’s own Julian Brass at the upscale 1812 Lounge at the Thompson Hotel. Over 200 dapper YPs and industry professionals mixed and mingled while savouring the California wine, learning about the ins and outs of the four-grape blend from the sunny state.

There was a definite vibe of the ‘underground’ at the event; the ambiance of an invite-only who’s who hideaway, if you will. Guests partook in the sensory station, getting a first-hand in-depth look at the different grapes that go into Apothic Red and experiencing the unique characteristics that each grape contributes to wine. While sipping away at the beautiful wine inspired by Old World Apothecas – ancient cellars where, more than 800 years ago, winemakers blended and stored their most coveted concoctions – Enjoi DJ Outfit spun appropriately sultry beats.
