In recent years, news reports have been filled with stories about the conflict between music fans and record companies. Public Records, a new Vancouver-based nonprofit community, is centered on an online network for independent music and seeks to offer an alternative to the traditional structure of the music industry. On August 11th, you’re invited to the Waldorf Hotel to celebrate the launch of this potentially game-changing new initiative. Guests can look forward to performances by local artists Jordan Klassen, Behind Sapphire and Guilty About Girls.
