There is no denying it — the concept of horoscopes and astrology isn’t for everyone.
But with that said, even for the biggest skeptics among us, there is something reassuring (and at times, enlightening) about identifying with predictions that seemingly align with our habits and tendencies, moods, lifestyle, and our professional and romantic status.
Are our stars truly accurate in regards to actually predicting our future? Or is astrology predominantly hinged on self-fulfilling prophecy? I’m never entirely sure, but I do believe that these observations tend to tap into our innermost desires and thoughts, the details to our internal state and personality that we may already be aware of, but need someone else (or a greater force of some kind) to confirm for us.
These predictions and observations can also prove especially true in the realm of our careers, and the professional habits that drive (or at times, inhibit) our momentum. The Sagittarius sign (born between November 22nd and December 21st), are known as the generous, idealistic, impatient and oftentimes hilarious and without a filter, sign of the Zodiac. The long list of Sagittarius-born celebs includes big names like Chrissy Teigen, Jay Z, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, Ben Stiller and Britney Spears, just to name a few.
So for the Sagittarii hoping to gain some insight into their career path and tendencies, or anyone working with a Sagittarius who hopes to tap into their professional disposition, here are 5 points to consider:
1. Sagittarii are Endlessly Idealistic
When it comes to inherent optimism and a dose of spirited idealism, look no further than a Sagittarius. Often deemed the happiest sign of the Zodiac, those born under the Sagittarius are rarely afraid to show off their extroverted nature, open mind, a constant penchant for change and their intensely enthusiastic mindset. This can make Sagittarii a breath of fresh air to work with, as their energy often motivates (and rubs off on) those around them.
The flip side? While their optimism is a largely positive trait and influence on others, Sagittarii can sometimes lose sight of the balance between idealism and realism, as they tend to promise more than they can deliver. This habit can make them difficult to work with at times when specific deadlines and project management needs are involved, and at times their seemingly boundless enthusiasm may come across as exhausting to others.
2. Sagittarii Tend to be Bold and Value Freedom Above All Else
Curious almost to a fault, Sagittarii are one of the biggest travellers among all zodiac signs, eager to see the world, find meaning in everything that they do and feel as though they have reached a certain level of fulfillment. A fire sign, Sagittarii feel a certain need to be in touch with the world and the people around them, while experiencing as much as possible. This intense curiosity makes them an ideal fit for dynamic, freelance-based careers such as a travel agent, artist, writer, photographer, researcher, ambassador and more.
The flip side? Sagittarii aren’t always easy to tie down to one place, and one job. Their need for freedom can cause them to reject the traditional notions and structure of a 9 to 5 office role, or make them tough characters to manage effectively. If they feel they are uninspired or disconnected from their work, it will be hard for them to remain in that role before taking off and pursuing something else. FOMO is a very real concept, in the life of a Sagittarius.
3. Sagittarii are Always the Life of the Party
Endlessly energetic, outgoing and eager to connect with everyone around them, those born under the Sagittarius sign are a shoe-in for the favourite person at every party (or even meeting). They have an undeniable knack for bringing light and humour into every scenario and discussion, a charm that often helps them to grow an impressive professional circle, as well as ease tension during tougher conversations. Their desire to constantly express themselves can inspire friends or co-workers around them to feel more open, at ease and empowered to be bold and forthright as well. You can usually expect the Sagittarius in your friend group or workplace to be a master of observational humour and ruthless sarcasm.
The flip side? At times, Sagittarii can actually be a little too forthright — a habit that can come off as tactless or blunt in certain professional scenarios, as they often have a hard time expressing themselves in a tolerant and socially acceptable way.
4. If a Sagittarus Wants it, They Go and Get It
Sagittari have an uncanny ability to transform their thoughts and ideas into concrete actions, as their relentless enthusiasm translates into a visceral sense of determination. They typically desire a career, relationships and a lifestyle that aligns with their larger than life personality, and they are ruled by passion (never fear) in order to make that happen. Their confidence and independent nature allows them to embrace professional change in stride, and move seamlessly from one role or industry to the next.
The flip side? Sagattari are notoriously impatient and restless. They are used to things falling into place rather quickly and according to their design — so, when things don’t go as planned, they can become easily disinterested and frustrated. If you try to bottleneck their plans and behaviour, or nitpick everything they do, they will likely distance themselves from you. Further, their inherent confidence can (at times) be misunderstood as an over-inflated ego.
5. Sagittarii are Allergic to Bullsh*t
Also known for their intuitive nature, Sagittari are notoriously good at reading people and pinpointing underlying intentions. Even in a room full of people, they can get a read on someone in minutes and instinctively pick up on things that others miss. This makes them an incredible judge of character within the professional realm, allowing them to see past formalities and ego to the true intentions of their co-workers and those who they decide to do business with.
The flip side? Given that they are typically a generous, honest and incredibly happy people, Sagittarii won’t take kindly to liars (trust me, they can always tell) or people who come across as fake or ill-intentioned. If their bullsh*t radar goes off, they will likely either call you out on it blatantly, or choose to have nothing to do with you entirely; a somewhat polarizing habit that can create tensions in the work environment between conflicting personalities.
