Victoria Sweater Party at Brooklynn Bar

Sometimes, the worse you dress, the more likely it is you’re going to get past the front door. That was the case last night, as Brooklynn Bar hosted its second annual Victoria Sweater party to raise money for the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Brooklynn has been a favourite spot of ours on the West Queen West strip since its opening because of its unpretentious atmosphere and lively vibe. Young professionals packed the bar in their ugliest sweaters, cardigans and pullovers for this great cause, which also featured elves, Darth Vader and Santa himself. Music from Guns n’ Roses to Justice did wonders for bringing out the holiday spirit, which lasted well throughout the night. Not bad for a Tuesday.

The event was a great success, resulting in two big boxes packed to the top with non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys by night’s end. Between supporting a great initiative, spending the night with a close-knit group of YPs and the lemon drops, we’re not sure what had us feeling better. Speaking of close-knit, we’ll probably get started soon on an ugly sweater for next year’s party.
