14th Annual Bill Brooks Prostate Cancer Benefit

On Friday, January 20, the city’s elite jumped down the rabbit hole and entered the magical and wild world of Wonderland in support of Prostate Cancer. Hosted by Calgary Herald society columnist Bill Brooks, this was an event you definitely didn’t want to miss.

The fun started the minute you walked through the front door at Hotel Arts. Everything’s a little backwards in Wonderland, and guests were escorted through various halls, down stairs and out a door until finally arriving at the event itself.

Decked out in wonderland-inspired attire, the city’s leaders and young professionals enjoyed an adventurous evening as they helped raise money for the cause. Bill was definitely the star as he greeted guests as the Mad Hatter. As the evening progressed, people mingled, bid on the auction items (perhaps one of the best auctions in the city) and danced the night away.

Various food stations provided delectable bites such as pork belly sliders, oysters and caramel bacon pops. For those indulging, there were bubbles flowing, as well as a well-stocked scotch bar. But perhaps the most delightful was the never-ending candy buffet, which party-goers took full advantage of.
